GardensAll.com website was founded by Pat Porter in 2014 and purchased by the Alderson family at the end of 2015.
Greetings Gardeners!
So glad you’re here! In our experience, gardeners are great people who love to share their knowledge and their garden bounty with those around them.
Who We Are
We are a small family, two baby boomers, now in our 60’s, with two young adult “kids”, in their 20’s, both internationally adopted as toddlers, living near Winston-Salem, North Carolina. One is at home and the other away. Our son Nikolai helps tend to yard and garden maintenance and loves plants and flowers, such as his proud rescue of a white butterfly ginger plant.
Coleman’s is our master gardener, and loves planning and planting the garden and trying new plants each year. Coleman counts each day (and moment!) in the garden a blessing.
When not in the garden or building a new shed or raised bed or cattle panel greenhouse, Coleman manages our mountain rental cabin property which is our future retirement home, where we also have garden beds, a blueberry orchard, and other fruit and nut trees, like our favorite fuyu persimmons.
In addition, Coleman is an investment education instructor, passionate about empowering others to learn how to manage and grow their own investment portfolio. He’s also a published fiction author of the Mountain Whispers books, which he plans to get back to if he ever retires!
LeAura is our primary writer and editor and tends to our website here (and others we own), and our social accounts. LeAura’s gardening and growing passion is discovering and putting to use the edible and medicinal benefits of plants, both in the garden and the weeds in the yard and woods. She also enjoys tending herbs, indoor plants and babying our avocado trees and potted dwarf Meyer lemon trees.
We’re all avid plant and nature lovers and ongoing autodidacts, and love sharing what we discover and learn from our own experience and that of others, including from seasoned gardeners in the GardensAll community.

The more we hear from you, the more content we can research and write about that may help you. We’ve noticed how ready the GardensAll Facebook community is to jump in to offer advice and share learnings. That’s what we’re all about. We’re in this together, we grow stronger and more successful!

We’d love to have you join our email list. We’re currently only sending out one email a week, mostly on Sundays. We will guard your email fiercely, and only share information, education, and products that we like and think you may also like.
We may also occasionally ask for your questions, feedback, and/or advice, but we will never sell your information or engage in any spammy marketing practices.
