Thirty years with Stihl. Almost as long as I’ve been married to my wife, and, like our marriage, Stihl is still going strong. So here’s a short Stihl chainsaw review in order to give a shout out to the best chainsaw in my book.
Whenever we have pros out for services, we ask them their favorite trade tools. A number of tree trimmers over the years have used Stihl. Our most recent arborists cited two other brands as well, including Husqvarna and Echo.
Our Stihl chainsaw has been a real workhorse of a chainsaw, powering through jobs big and small. We’re not getting any affiliate revenue or sponsorship for this shout out because Stihl isn’t available on Amazon, so if you see one there it’s probably a third party seller, and may be used or without warranty.
Where to Buy Stihl Chainsaws
Again, we’re not affiliated with any of these companies. Just sharing with you what we use.
Stihl Chainsaw Dealers
- Ace Hardware Stores
- Home Depot
- Northern Tools
- Stihl.com’s locator tool to find a dealers nearest you
Most Stihl dealers should provide warranty services, but be sure to inquire before you buy. It’s not likely that your Stihl chainsaw will need many if any repairs, but it’s always a good idea to be aware of warranty services, and servicing options for maintenance.
High Winds From Hurricane Zeta Fells Trees
We didn’t know what we’d find as we driving up the winding gravel driveway to our rental cabin property. After rounding the first bend, we came upon two oak trees that had fallen across the driveway. It wasn’t a surprise as we’ve had felled trees from high winds before. It’s nature’s way of cleaning house.
We were just grateful that our cabin did not sustain any damage beyond the cushion of our porch swing flying off.

With cabin rental guests arriving that afternoon, we needed to get to work right away. We’ll get this tree blocked off well enough to move it out of the driveway and later come back to chop it into firewood.
Our neighbor, Mack Collins came by and was a BIG help when he put his tractor to use to push the logs to the side of the road. That saved us a lot of time hitching them to the truck with chains to drag over one at a time.
Next big wishlist item… a tractor! Meanwhile, grateful for good neighbors!

Speaking of workhorses, we do love our Kawasaki Mule! And again, we’re not affiliated with Kawasaki, but just letting you know products we love, even when we don’t earn affiliate pocket money for it.
Wishing you safety from the storms of life… and a good chainsaw when you need it!
